Native to Arizona and New Mexico, this agave has green leaves tinged with orange and red-brown spines along leaf edges and tips. Mature plants form rosettes of leaves up to three feet in length. They infrequently offset, and in a decade or more they may bloom, sending up a flower stalk up to 20 feet tall. Like most other agave, after they flower, they die, leaving any offsets they produced to take their place.
Sold as 3-year old plants from seed in 2″ rose pots.
